The Ultimate Jackson Hole Girls Weekend Guide (Summer and Fall)

Your ultimate guide to Jackson Hole, Wyoming: the perfect place for a girls trip filled with charm and cozy mountain vibes. As someone who is a non-skier, I loved Jackson Hole in the fall!! It was gorgeous and the weather was perfect.

If you’ve been craving a destination for a girls trip that blends adventure with luxe relaxation, Jackson Hole, Wyoming should be at the very top of your list. It’s perfect for any time of the year. Whether you’re a big time skier, exploring Grand Teton National Park, or sipping a craft cocktail by a crackling fire, Jackson Hole is the kind of place that is always a good idea. It’s a great stop on a road trip too!

This guide covers everything you need to know to plan the ultimate Jackson Hole girls weekend, including where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and exactly how to spend a weekend there.

Before You Go:

How to Get There:

Views from the airplane

Flying into the Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) is really the quickest way to get here. And WOW, the views from the plane are absolutely stunning.

Pro Tip: Sit on the right side of the plane on your way in for the best views.

How to Get Around:

Renting a car is going to be the most convenient way to get around. Especially if you plan to explore outside of the downtown and go into Grand Teton Park. The START bus does connect Jackson and Teton Village, but my recommendation is to rent a car. If you stay downtown, you can easily walk around!

What to Wear:

This is the time to really embrace anything and everything Western. Think fringe, fur, cowboy hats, boots, go all into the theme.

WHERE TO STAY IN JACKSON HOLE

There’s technically two locations to stay in Jackson Hole: Downtown & Teton Village. Downtown Jackson is where we stayed and it was convenient because we could just walk everywhere and we didn’t have to worry about driving. Teton Village is great for those outdoor adventures or luxury stays.

Luxury Stay: The Cloudveil

This is true luxury and will have everything you need and more. It’s super stylish and has stunning rooftop views. Great for couples and if you are celebrating something special.

Boutique Stay: Hotel Jackson

This is going to be a little bit more pricier but has that boutique feel. Beautifully designed rooms, rooftop hot tub, and upscale amenities.

Budget Friendly: Elk Country Inn

This is where we stayed for our girls’ trip and we loved it! We thought it was a great price point with all the amenities we could want. Great for walking to anywhere and everywhere downtown, free breakfast, and an indoor/outdoor pool.

THE PERFECT 3-DAY JACKSON HOLE WEEKEND ITINERARY:

DAY 1: Arrive & Explore Downtown Jackson

After landing at Jackson Hole Airport, check into your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring downtown.

Lunch at Bin 22 - a cute tapas restaurant inside a wine store!

Walk Around Town Square - The famous elk antler arches are one of Jackson’s most iconic photo spots.

Don’t miss:

  • Local boutiques - some of my favorites were Made, Belle Shops, Altitude

  • Western shops

  • Art galleries

  • Coffee stops

Drinks & dinner at Snake River Grill. Frequently ranked among the best restaurants in Wyoming, Snake River Grill is the perfect first-night dinner spot.

Go out and about at Million Dollar Cowboy bar. No Jackson Hole trip is complete without a drink at this iconic Wyoming institution. Make sure you try some swing dancing on the dance floor!!

DAY 2: Cowboy Tour

Today is all about embracing your inner Cowboy!

Coffee at the very Instagrammable Cowboy Coffee Co.

Stop into Kemosabe to make custom hat for your next activity!

Next, you’re going to go horseback riding with stunning views of the Grand Teton. The last weekend to do this is going to be mid-to late October making it the perfect summer/fall activity! On the way there, stop at Picnic for lunch. The salads and sandwiches were so fresh and good!

For dinner, you will go to Trio - this was my favorite meal of the trip. Their menu is seasonal with amazing cocktails. The basil exposition is one of their famous cocktails. A great hidden gem.

DAY 3: Grand Teton Adventure

Early wake-up call to catch the sunrise at Mormon Row. Set your alarms early because this is one of the most photographed locations in Wyoming. You’ll get stunning views of the Tetons behind historic barns.

Head back into town to grab a coffee and pastry at Persephone’s - another Instagrammable location. We actually went later in the day and they were trying to sell all their baked goods so we got 2 bakery items for the price of 1!

Explore Grand Teton National Park - here are some of the must-see stops:

  • Stop at Jenny Lake and be sure to check out the Hidden Falls Trail

  • Hike Taggart Lake Trail

  • String Lake

  • Schwabacher Landing

  • Snake River Overlook

  • Oxbow Bend

Most of these stops are easily accessible with drive-off points. If your group enjoys hiking, take the ferry across Jenny Lake and hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.

This will take most of the day so when you head back, you can relax, go to the spa, take a nap, all before your last night’s dinner.

Dinner at Glorietta Trattoria: One of the most popular restaurants in Jackson Hole. You will need to make a reservation unless you want to wait or try your luck at the bar.

BEST THINGS TO DO IN JACKSON HOLE

If you have more days in Jackson Hole or you want to switch up the itinerary I planned, here are some other things you can do while in Jackson Hole. If and when I go back, I will be partaking in some of these!

Whitewater Rafting

For my adventure seeking people, rafting the Snake River is unforgettable. This is definitely something to do with a big group or family.

Go Off-Roading

Another one for my adventure seeking fans, rent an off-road vehicle to explore trails between the parks. Great activity for a big family and some scenic views.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

One of the most bucket-list-worthy activities in Jackson Hole (and probably the most romantic). The scenic view from the hot air balloon is so insta-worthy. You will go during sunrise and could see wildlife and the gorgeous Teton’s.

Wildlife Safari

Jackson Hole is one of the best places in America to spot wildlife. So choose between a sunrise or sunset safari with a knowledgeable guide and you could see:

  • Moose

  • Elk

  • Bison

  • Bears

  • Bald eagles

Ride the Aerial Tram

Take the famous tram to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. The views are absolutely incredible. Here is where you can buy your tickets. You could even splurge on a nice dinner at Piste Mountain Bistro.

But definitely don’t leave without trying the famous waffles at Corbet’s Cabin.

Float Down the Snake River

Spa Afternoon

Book treatments at:

  • Four Seasons Spa

  • Amangani Spa

  • Snow King Spa

This makes the perfect final girls trip activity before catching your flight home.

So, Why Jackson Hole?

It’s just the perfect little weekend getaway when you need a trip that fits the following: cute aesthetic, nature and scenic views, relaxing activities. It’s a great girls trip, mother/daughter, or even couples trip.
