10 Best Weekend Getaways From Chicago Within Driving Distance

Travel has become so expensive this summer so I’m trying to keep my travel local this year while also still feeling like I can escape the city. And the good thing about the Midwest is that there are a ton of cities all within little pockets of each other. A lot of these destinations are just a few hours drive, or even train ride, away from the city.

Whether you’re planning a girls’ trip, romantic getaway, solo adventure with your dog, or you just want to do a quick trip away, there are countless weekend getaways from Chicago that don’t require hopping on a plane.
